How to reverse chronic disease Back to page 1The basics continued -2-Healthful
additions to a diet of natural
whole foods:
Olive oil may be used in very small amounts, and only when it says ‘extra virgin’, all other olive oils are inferior and harmful because of toxic residuesGarlic, super
for taste and for infections if taken raw
Cayenne
pepper (=chili pepper), powerful
cleansing food as long as it is taken raw. Never heat it
or cook it,
because then it becomes an irritant. Also,
remove the small remaining stems when ground at home. Black pepper, some say it can be used only when freshly home ground, but our experience is that even the freshly ground pepper is an irritant and mucus forming. never use the commercial black pepper which is an irritant and not healthy.Lemon
juice, you
can even eat the whole lemon if it is not sprayed Apple
cider vinegar, only
if unpasteurised with the “mother” still in it, and without
preservatives
(the local one, even the one at the health food store has preservative
in it) Onion,
leek and chives, raw Raw
honey, only
the honey which is not heated is healthy, try to go for the one
collected in the
bush. Herbal
teas, do
not use ordinary teas with flavors, make your own at home with dried or
fresh
herbs. Generally use 1 heaped
teaspoon dried herb per cup, or 2 heaped teaspoons of fresh herb per
cup. Edible
wild foods,
these
are a rich and cheap source of nutrients, like for example amaranth
(imbuya),
gallant soldier or quick weed, black jack, purslane, chickweed, okra General recommendations Water, drink at least 4 liters of distilled water daily. Do not drink chlorine water straight from the tap. At least boil the water before drinking, or let the water sit in a dish for 1 to 2 days to allow the chlorine to evaporate. Distilled water is the best, it helps the body to eliminate dead inorganic minerals and toxins which have accumulated. A person on a high fruit diet does not need this much water, because the fruits supply enough fluid. A person on a high fruit diet does not need this much water, because the fruits supply enough fluid. A person on a high fruit diet does not need this much water, because the fruits supply enough fluid. Always
make sure you have 2 to 3 good bowel movements every day Eat
lots of vegetables and fruits,
they
should be the bulk of the diet. Vegetable
juices are powerful healing foods, carrot
juice for example Raw
foods, many
raw foods are powerful healers. Gradually incorporate more raw foods
into your
diet. This provides fibre as well, which helps greatly as a laxative,
to clean
out the bowels. Always treat
properly to clean it of dirt and contamination. Chewing
well and
thorougly mixing food with saliva
increases the food value tremendously. This
applies to solids as well as and juices, even juices should be
thoroughly
swished in the mouth before swallowing Sprouted
grains
and seeds are powerful foods. Make
sure you use untreated seeds. You can succesfully sprout wheat, pearl
millet
(inyawuthi), grain amaranth, quinoa, sunflower seeds, alfalfa seed,
radish
seed, fenugreek seed, broccoli seed, leek seed etc Never
sprout sorghum (amabele), this
becomes toxic when doing so. Sprouted wheat makes an excellent sweetener for porridge for the small children. It also makes excellent sweet tasting bread (you don’t even need yeast or baking soda to make it). Please only use this as a transition food. Other grains are preferable. . Avoid commercial ground spices, as they are generally irridiated and very harmful. Only use certified organic spices if you want any. Animal
products allowed in strict
moderation after
the healing phase.
Choose
young
chicken and eggs from free range hens, clean fish (wild catch) or meat
from
purely grass fed cows if you want any. Animal products are not
recommended, but can be needed in times of famine for example,
when there
is a shortage of other foods. Egg yolks from free range hens should be
eaten
raw, and some fish can be eaten raw. Never eat raw egg whites, they are
better
discarded. Beans,
peas, etc
are
best eaten fresh. They become heavy to
digest once they are dried. They can be sprouted first if you wish for
easier
digestion. Food combinations: Never
drink after meals, this interferes with digestion as you are diluting
digestive
juices. Never
take fruits after meals, because this causes fermentation or
putrefaction of
other foods, always take fruits at least 30 minutes before meals. Never
combine starch and protein (like potatoes plus meat in one meal), as
this makes
an indigestible combination. Proteins need an acid environment for
digestion,
but the acid stops digestion of starches.
